WOW! that was just u n b e l i e v a b l e, once again. having seen roisin and her boys for the third time this year, i am still far from having enough - actually i am further from that than ever. after gus gus, which were fun in their own peculiar way, moloko entered the stage at 9:00 p.m. what followed was more than two hours of pure pleasure, ecstasy and devotion. fighting the mink tails around her neck, enwrapping herself with a light chain, and the notorious flower massacre … words couldn’t even come close to what they did to the crowd in the vienna gasometer music hall. roisin had the audience on toast from the very first second. what remains is the certainty of having witnessed a marvellous, magnificent and superb evening with the world’s most loveable band. by the way: not a single article on the events of this glorious night was to be found in the papers or on the radio the next day. an inquiry at fm4, austria’s “alternative mainstream” radio channel, produced the following result: “everybody knows they’re great anyway.” would have been nice to repeat that, though. moloko more than deserve that …" |
